Yesterday I got a prize for my work with the Princess and the Christmas calendar. It was a very special day for me! I made an artist talk for a lot of people and we celebrated the prize after. I grew up in the neighbor town to Vejen, so the museum in Vejen is very special to me. I teach kids at the art school at the museum, so i feel very much at home at the museum. It was a great honor for me to make the exhibition, being the youngest ever to do that and it has been such a success with over 800 visitors just in December:) If you did not see the exhibition yet, you still have time! It will be at the museum until the 12th of May. And the other part of the show is brilliant for all interested in glazes. The Princess was given as a prize for a local Company The other day.

Im looking through all my glazes these days, trying to find the perfect once for the calendar. This is what I really enjoy with ceramics, it is always interesting to make new glazes and to try old once in a new context.

I´m not completely sure about the first picture... Maybe its going to be pink too, but I have not decided totally yet...The next one I'm thinking of making like the vessel in brown/blue glaze, and I have already added some low fired clay to make a contrast to the very sharp "rocks" growing from this piece... I want to add more materials and maybe fire it once more, but I have to think a little about how and what to do! have a nice weekend!

The Princess is going to meet these guys, are they good or bad???

I´m making a lot of landscapes these days. They are all for the christmas calendar at Vejen museum of art. The Princess is going to meet Niels Hansen Jacobsens ceramics, an example is the glazed piece above. So I´m getting inspired of NHJ way of working with the clay, also trying to guess how he used his glazes and so on. I really enjoy this way of working and I think it is very interesting that NHJ worked the way he did 100 years ago.

Back in 2007 I made a collaboration with the Royal Copenhagen. The pieces I made was shown in: The Royal Café. After the exhibition ended they kept some of the princesses. This year the owners of the café made this very beautiful book with recipes for their: Smushis, and between everything, you will find the princess in nice places.

I was invited to do the christmas calendar for Vejen Kunstmuseum, so these are some of the new landscapes in Keramos... They are going to be very pink!

It has now been 5 years since the Princess was made! And how nice these five years with her have been. The Princess has traveled the world, been at fairs and exhibited many wonderful places! Many people have followed and supported her and given me opportunities that I have never dreamed of 5 years ago! So Thank you everyone! I finally found some boots for my Prince! So now I begun to make the moulds for him:) Im not always happy about working with the plaster, because Im not always as patience as I should be... But today it all went almost the way I wanted it! So when the moulds are dry, you will see the Prince!
