ECC 2010 Christin Johansson

Billede
The "New Talent" winner Christin Johansson www.christin.dk Was also one of the speakers at the conference ECC 2010. Christine Johansson is a very unique artist. Her way of thinking gives us so many new stories and a new way to see at the normal life. She has made lots of initiatives to show ceramic in a new context. One example is her: Window 107, an old shop window in Istedgade in Copenhagen. In the window other artists can exhibit their works so everybody who walkes by can see the works. Pictures are from her web, and you should go and see it! Im looking forward to se more from her side.

ECC 2010 Atelier NL

Atelier NL http://www.ateliernl.com/ was two of the speakers at the conference at ECC 2010. Nadine Sterk and Lonny Van Ryswyck are really interresting. With their projects they are thinking in new ways, but still they are using their background and history, by beeing ceramisists and from Holland. Their works might look traditionel, but the whole history in them are wonderfull and makes you think a lot. You have to read about them and learn to know their projects!

European Ceramic Context 2010 Masterclass

Billede
Katharine Morling UK www.katharinemorling.co.uk Philiph Eglin UK Louise Hindsgavl DK www.louisehindsgavl.dk The Masterclass was with focus on the:"Figure today". I didn´t know Katharine Morling before, and I was impressed by her work. She makes "3D" ceramic drawings, just black and white, they are really strong works. Since I was a student Louise Hindsgavl has inspired me very much. I think she has done a lot for example danish students, by making her figurines, she changes some traditions and we were allowed to be more free in our works, when I went to school. All of the three made a work during the day and it was interresting to see them working and hear about beeing a ceramist.

ECC Bornholm

So now I´m going to see the European Ceramic context at the danish island Bornholm. Looking very much forward to the exhibitions, master class and conference, to see a real live princess and also to be arround good friends for many days. I will post some pictures... or many, when I return. Have a nice weekend!

Svampetid

Billede
It is season for fungus in Denmark and I have found a lot of beautifull fungus for inspiration. The painting by Kathrine Ærtebjerg is my favourite of hers, and I saw it many years ago at Arken, a danish art museum. Fungus from nature are amazing. And at the blog Fine little day I found the towel and stone. On of the picture is my own collection, and I don´t mind it growing bigger!
